Final Reflections On The Commission

Having been commissioned by the band to make a music video for them, I feel that it has been a great experience and also a rewarding one. I have learnt a number of things. Having watched music videos in the past, I always thought that making a music video was extremely challenging and also time consuming.

I felt the commuincation issues by the band and myself were pretty good. I informed them of all the ideas I wanted to include the video and they gave me the creative freedom to do so. I am pleased with the fact that they have a video that they enjoy and that I am also proud of this video.

The one major disadvantage I suffered with the commission was sometimes just a lack of preparation for the shoot. I never took into consideration the paperwork that I would need in order to film the narrative, even though the final video worked out well.

Having now completed this music video, other unsigned bands have seen it and liked it and have approached me in order to make a music video for their band. If I was to make a music video for them, I would make sure that I would keep in full contact with the band whilst planning what would happen on screen and to also sort out all the necessary paperwork to make sure that the filming would go to plan.
